Buzz Kill | In Search of a Beard Trimmer

NYT “The Moment” writer,  Jonathan S. Paul, gets all up close and personal with a slew of beard trimmers. “Recently, my style-sourcing skills were put to the test when my beard trimmer, an old Panasonic, broke. I never loved it — the battery would tire out causing the blades to painfully tug at my whiskers. Something better, something chicer had to be out there. In my search for a new one, I quickly learned that electric-powered men’s grooming appliances are some of the least attractive items on the market. Call me fussy, but if I’m going to buy something I use several times a week (to keep my shadow paused at 5 o’clock), I’d like the thing to look good.”
