Typography Furniture

There has been a great amount of type based furniture in 2010. Bookcases, children’s chests, even plain old storage units. Mark Lauckhardt, a designer focused primarily on photography and based in Hamburg, Germany, offers his take on the trend with “Typography Furniture” (yes, thrilling name). Lauckhardt’s desire to have type exist in daily life (which is does anyway) translates well in two table forms. With a pair of “H” acting not unlike pier table legs and a “T” table mimicking an actual tilt top tea table, the collection has a few neat components. However, there are also major faults. The lower case “H” chair is appalling, and the “F” lamp not much better.
