Springtime is just around the corner and there is no better time to prep for the coming season than with a couple of “picks” for the season from some of our blogger friends. We take a look at Eight Picks for and summer from our One Man’s Style holding down New England and beyond. From navy blue suits to coffee grinders, OMS gives us his favorites for the sunshine – both mornings and night.
See and read more picks for Spring/Summer 2012 from OMS on the following page…
Navy Blue Suit
One of the staples ( of which I do not own ) of a well rounded wardrobe. A Navy suit is a must, I will take mine: Two button, double vented, wideish peak lapels.
Jack Spade Dopp Kit
I have been in search of a decent looking dopp kit for some time. This unit from jack spade combines luggage grade nylon with some nice leather accents and a waterproof interior.
Another addition that I need to make is some decent tortoiseshell sunglasses. There are a number of different options out there, I recently came across “the people” from Super Sunglasses. These have a nice classic look to them but enough to differentiate them from the sea…
Baratza Virtuoso Preciso Grinder
I haven’t pulled the trigger on the espresso machine yet, my go to as of now is a french press. Currently I am using a basic grinder, but ask any coffee connoisseur and a good burr grinder is a must. From the basic research I have done this machine seems to be a great choice in the middle of the range. $299
Gucci Sport Fragrance
A lighter fragrance is definitely in order for the warm weather. I really like this “sport” from Gucci and I have worn it for the past couple years. That being said, the new Dolce and Gabbana Sport seems like it would be a nice change of pace. $37
Marin Media Center
This media console from Crate and Barrel is one of the nicest that I have found in is price range. Made of solid elm and build using traditional Chinese joinery techniques no nails or screws.
James Perse Gray Zip Up Hoodie
Another staple piece that I have yet to acquire: the Gray zip up Hoodie. This piece from LA’s James Perse has a nice weight too it and is 100 percent Japaneses cotton.
The Beachcomber at Cahoons Hollow beach in Wellfleet, MA. This place is a must if your anywhere down the Cape. Get there early though if you plan on hitting the beach as it fills up quick. A killer raw bar (oysters anyone?) and a great laid back feel, dont expect any thing too posh this is a well used beach bar. There usually a solid line up of bands that will be playing through out so check the listing.
