Antonio Sabas Shoots CERN: ALICE – Photography

Photographer Antonio Saba has been shooting CERN: ALICE—a multimillion dollar device built for experiments that test the Big Bang Theory—since construction began in 2005, which resulted in the 2009 coffee table book, one millionth of a second after the big bang. He recently revisited the cavernous contraption to take some pictures of it in a state of completion. This is some seriously crazy shit. We will not even venture a guess at what any of the stuff pictured is meant to accomplish. For the sake of the folks running maintenance on CERN, we do offer up the hope that none of it sensitive like an old string of holiday lights. Can you imagine checking this many wires?
