We’ve been keeping an eye on British Remains for a while now as they continue to breathe new life into the bold tee. This time round they hit the London Underground, transforming Edward Johnston’s classic designs into something altogether darker. A selection of shirts, bags and Oyster card holders, these won’t be finding themselves in the London Transport Museum shop anytime soon.
“The London Underground’s routine, punctuated by delays and tunnel-based halts, breeds introspect, anxiety, and – despite the dense population and collective movement on each train at rush hour – a sense of alienation…Travelling beneath the city can leave the regular commuter numb, but in that numbness there’s still scope for creativity.”
