Spring/Summer weather can be a bit unpredictable as some of you may be experiencing right now (Londoners, you hear me). While it’d be nice to be able to leave the house in a tee without a care in the world, it’s wise to think ahead and keep something relative lightweight and roll-up friendly on your person. We’ve thrown together a few options to help in the search. A selection that shouldn’t kick off a sweat but might offer some protection if it all goes pear shaped weather-wise.

Tender – Woad Dyed Guard Jacket
Made from a light twill cotton, another gem from British Brand Tender. Cow horn buttons, copper rivets, dyed with woad indigo – this is based on a 1930′s Rail Guard Jacket. Check out the big pockets, imagine all the nonsense you could carry about in those.
Thinner than pictures may suggest, a more affordable option in this line-up. A simple textured baseball style jacket with raglan sleeves and press studs. Ribbed collar, cuffs and waistband – the nice n’ easy member of our 8.
At the other end of the scale – If you’re looking to spend a few more notes this Visvim Kimono will do a bit of wallet damage. It’s pretty cool though, 100% woven Japanese cotton, those traditional length sleeves will allow a little breeze to the elbows on a warmer day. For those not up for the search for an original Kimono.
C.E present a transparent version of a Coach Jacket. 100% waterproof (although no hood) this is perfect if you’ve just bought a new tee and are looking to show off. Please resist the temptation to wear nothing underneath this.
A.P.C present a take on the Harrington or old time scout jacket. Fire truck red, the little tab detail on the collar is a nice touch as is the elasticated waist and cuffs. A smart number, keeping it loud colour-wise but understated in terms of design.
Batten Sportswear – Pullover Anorak
It’s gonna rain. In fact, from where I’m sitting, it seems to be doing just that right now. If you know the weather’s gonna take a turn a pullover isn’t a bad option, although taking this on and off over your head will probably see you keeping it on until bedtime. Not a bad thing though when a jacket looks as good as this. 100% Taslan, U.S.A made.
Marni – Contrast Sleeve Jacket
Marni know how to pick a shade of blue. The contrast colour on the sleeves saves this from boring. A canvas jacket with four front pockets and a button adjustable waist. This feels like the most Spring-y of this collection, don’t know why, just does.
Warehouse – Hellers Cafe Checked Jacket
A superb piece from Warehouse’s Hellers Cafe collection by vintage don Larry McKaughan. This pleated front checked jacket is a nice alternative for those who find it hard to part from their denim number during warmer months. Unwashed Palaka cotton, Donut buttons, cinched back blouson style fit. Nice job.
