The Abandoned Bikes of New York City

Ryan and Laura of Smith&Ratliff bring us this amazing photo set recording the ever increasing number of abandoned bikes, alone and forlorn, littering New York’s streets. A sight mirrored in cities world wide, these stripped down, rust covered frames are either a signifier of increasing local crime or a sign of our disposable consumerism, whichever way they, they look pretty cool.
