Since opening doors on Crosby Street back in 2009, Saturdays Surf NYC has become an important part of the local fabric by bringing awareness to the sport of surf in the city as well as offering an “environment where the like-minded or curious could hang out.” Saturdays embraces the city of New York as much as the sport of surf itself, but does not limit itself to these boundaries. With new locations in the West Village and their Tokyo flagship, Saturdays has clearly positioned itself for even greater future success.

Now, the shop and brand are extending themselves into the world of print with the launch of Saturdays Magazine. Issue #1 collects interviews and stories around “balance” in surf, and the “balance” between surf, work, and life. Founder Colin Tunstall takes the editor-in-Chief role for the magazine and an issue that boasts interviews with the likes of Mike D., Sean MacPherson, Vincent Cassel, Japan’s Kohei Chiba and many other fans of the sport of surf.

And that’s just the start. The magazine is a thick one, packed well with photography alongside the writing. We offer this select preview inside Saturdays Magazine issue #1. Buy it now online.

This magazine is a joke. Peeped it the other day and couldn’t believe the awful content and print quality. And for $20 no less! Hate that everyone thinks they can do a magazine these days…

The awful thing is some image quality problems in the photos of mike d and Joel Tudor, wich is unnaceptable.
