One of the more highly anticipated releases from British/Jamaican electronic artist, Mala. Recognized as one of the most influential producers of the orginal “dubstep” movement (and not to be confused with what the commercial landscape now considers dubstep), Mala traveled to Cuba to sample and record local Cuban musicians. The album, Mala in Cuba, is a refreshing take on the original bass sound and mixes the sound system culture of London with the “rhythmic leanings of Cuban jazz.”
A highly recommended release for anyone interested in the future progress of electronic and world music. The album arrives September 10, 2012 in North America. Available from Amazon.
