Steve ESPO Powers New Solo Show in NYC

This week, artist and love letter scribe, Steve Powers (ESPO) returns with his first solo show in seven years, aptly named A Word is Worth a Thousand Pictures  at New York’s Joshua Liner Gallery.

Expect to see a panoramic range of work from 10-x-8 in to 10-x-10 feet featuring his signature style of bright, punchy typography and graphics, as well as his “Metaltations” – small-scale works on 10-x-8 inch metal sheets painted with enamel that serve as daily diary. Pop, graffiti, sign painting all mingle effortlessly in what Powers says: “…paintings closest to my ideal visually represent what’s in my head, a cacophony of wants and needs and hopes and fears and dreams.” If you can’t go to the show in Chelsea before it ends on September 29th, get a visual preview above of what you’ll be missing out on.  Opening reception: Thursday September 6 from 6-9pm
