45 Kilometres out of Bergen, Norway, lies the Norlender factory. Using traditional techniques, knitted thermal vests and cardigans are created making up 50% of the finished article, outerwear from label Norwegian Rain. The other 50%? produced slightly further afield, Japan to be exact. Old world woolen layers are matched with hi-tech fabrics, “windproof, waterproof and breathable textiles shelling us away from the elements”. In terms of design, the Fall Winter 2013 collections offers something a little different from the usual rainwear. Described as a “classical coat that can be transformed into subtle avant garde,” if strict forms and ultra simple cuts aren’t your thing in a storm then step right up.
