Miami born, New York based artist José Parlá finds himself the subject of a solo exhibition at Hanch of Venison in London. On display, his vibrant, expressive paintings and installations, some new, some previously seen, the artist often working within city spaces, creating site-specific works using found objects, street posters and various items picked up on his travels. He comments “For most of my life I have experienced being in transition and migration. This feeling allows me to bring the broken languages of the global community and its conditions into the gallery.” Take a look at a selection of works on display in our gallery.
