Li Hongbo on His Incredible Flexible Paper Sculptures

Something special from Crane.tvLi Hongbo channeled his book editing, designing skills and love of paper into building incredible pieces. At first look these impressive solid sculptures are your average chiselled forms. However, inspired by traditional Chinese paper gourds (most familiar in lantern and Christmas decoration form), these human heads, tree trunks and handguns open outwards, expanding to an incredible width, coming back together as if nothing ever happened. Amazing. Watch below, seem more in the gallery.
