American artist Pae White brings some beautiful yarn messages to the South London Gallery via Too Much Night Again. Using strands stretched across the gallery space, messages can only be read at certain angles, forcing the viewer to explore the entire gallery in order to decipher her words. “Inspired by a period of insomnia and consequent reflection on the transience of our existence, the letters and words emerge and dissolve depending on both our physical relationship to them and the relative weight of the overall aesthetic experience. ” Take a look at the installation of the piece and hear from Rae herself in the video below.
