D HOUSE – Lode Architecture – Brittany, France

250 sq meters of holiday home (yeah, not even a main residence), sitting by a river bank in Brittany, France, the D HOUSE by Lode Architecture has been designed to blend into its surroundings with as little disturbance to the landscape as possible. So, wood, lots of it both inside and out, most effective – those uneven natural slats surrounding the top level creating a more organic looking front. As with all the homes that turn our heads this has plenty of glass allowing light to flood in. Huge sliding doors opening up the whole space during warmer months, sheer curtains an option for those who don’t mind being on show. A beautiful central hearth, floor to ceiling shelving unit, textured concrete floors…see more in the gallery.
