Set to open Monday 15 April, The Monocle Café open their doors to us for an early preview.  Following on from their Tokyo location, launched 2011 in the Hankyu Men’s department store, this London location is a relatively cosy space with two levels and a few seats out front if you’re quick. Coffee is via Allpress of Redchurch street, nice. Even more impressive, cakes and other good stuff from Chef Masayuki Hara formally of Le Gavroche, currently of the brilliant Lanka. This guy can really cook. Furniture, fittings and crockery from fancy makers such as Truck of Osaka, Hasami, Ercol and Manufactum, we take a look inside and get to grips with the detail.
