The Scout explore the world of the vintage backpack in their latest post, calling on friend of the site Jordan Viray for assistance. Over the years Viray has amassed the most incredible selection of old carriers, an obsession that started from two finds: A North Face brown label number and a 1970s Camp Trails pack purchased for $30. Today he owns over 80 models from the ’60s through to the ’80s. Gerry, Alpine Designs, Chouinard, Holubar, Rivendell MW, Sierra Designs, Kelty alongside more obscure names such as 1st Lead Telluride Colorado and Yak Works…a tremendous collection that got us a little emotional. Check out some fine outdoors accessories in our gallery (photography by Daniel Bernauer) and catch the full interview with Jordan Viray at The Scout.
