Carven presents Summer 2014 as the wardrobe of a struggling French artist, a man with “the dishevelled allure of an amateur painter.” You know the type, all ancient Greek sandals, well-worn hats and unfulfilled dreams. Whatever this guy’s up to in his Provençal studio he’s going to be looking pretty slick. A strong colour palette in olives, terracottas and mint greens, a selection of beautiful textured fabrics (check out that Tangerine suit), slim pleated trousers, wide-collared pullover shirts and plenty of plays on proportion, a very nice collection indeed.
