Issey Miyake Spring Summer 2014 – Print-Heavy

Stripes, tie-dyes, pixels, gradients, grids, splatters – Issey Miyake Spring Summer 2014 is anything but plain. Borrowing from various 18th and 19th-century artists like Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock and Georges Seurat, the collection is a visual feast of print and color. As if that wasn’t interesting enough, these prints are even mixed together in one outfit. Issey Miyake’s technology-driven design aesthetic is also highlighted in the overblown Seurat pointillist dots that resemble giant digital pixels. Besides the print and color of the collection, however, are also refreshing silhouettes like elongated tops that can be worn as tunics, collarless jackets and long blazer-coats.
