Last week we headed off to Los Angeles with the folk from Levi’s XX as part of their Orange Tab re-launch celebrations. Transported back to the ’70s for a few days, at the centre of it all, the Party in Your Pants Festival. Held in the incredible Topanga Canyon, we made our way along Mulholland Drive in our party bus, said a prayer then navigated the narrow dusty roads high up in the hills, all soundtracked by the sounds of KLVC, Levi’s retro radio station set-up to get the city in the mood. The festival, jam packed full of hippie revivalists, false moustache collectors, Levi’s Vintage Clothing fans and goodtime guys ‘n gals brought us back-in-the-day sounds from Dave Grohl & Taylor Hawkins, a denim interior ’70s Gremlin car, a tie-dye tent for all your DIY psychedelia needs, a booze cabin, giant twister, Hell’s Angels security and some of the best hot dog/mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted. That, the mind-blowing views and the 38 degree heat had us all high as kites, not on drugs though kids, on Life, ya know? Check out the the event in our gallery, the intro below and look out for our interview with Levi’s XX design director Miles Johnson coming soon…

Is Levi’s aware that the Hells Angels involvement (as security) with Hippy Festivals was that they were involved with a murder at a Rolling Stones concert and pretty much turned peace, love and happiness into violence? That event was the end of the hippy era. Someone should do there research?

I really like this trend, I will certainly going to purchase one this season. I enjoy cropped blouses and trousers; very comfy and attractive. Street apparel and glam grunge is so trendy lately
