‘Fashion’ high-tops are often a difficult piece of footwear to get right. Occupying a weird ground between ‘fancy’ and ‘sport,’ the equivalent of a man dressed head to toe in Harley Davidson gear driving a Fiat Punto, sometimes it all feels just a little off. Also, that extra few inches of shoe above the ankle is a green light to some folk to start tucking in their trousers manically for that sporty pirate look. Difficult times. However, AMI from Alexandre Mattiussi have produced something spot-on with this combination of camel suede and polished black leather, a perforated toe and a lack of brash branding set it off perfectly. A job well done. Find them here.
