Nick Wooster Buys Stake in Atrium, Renames New York Stores Atrium Wooster

Nick Wooster buys a stake in multi-brand store Atrium, renaming the New York stores to “Atrium Wooster.” Atrium’s website is currently under construction, and there’s not much information as to what role Wooster will play in the 20-year old retail chain. It will be interesting to see if the street style icon will act as a fashion and style director (as he has for JCPenney, GILT Groupe and Neiman Marcus) or as a buyer (as he has for Calvin Klein, Bergdorf Goodman and Barneys New York), or both.

Have never been a huge fan of Atrium and on the few occasions I have been there feel it is reacting to trends and purely catering for the mainstream. Visited the trade show Project a few times, which I believe was started by Sam, and also felt that it was never really pioneering and was a showcase of some of the more mainstream, commercial and less directional brands. Will be very interested to see what Nick Wooster will bring to the business as he has a very different approach to what I believe is Atriums current offering. Good luck to them both.
