See the “INTERSECT by Lexus” Retail Destination in Aoyama, Tokyo

Lexus has opened a “luxury retail destination” in Aoyama, Tokyo, called “INTERSECT by Lexus.” The carmaker’s first venture into retail — with plans for locations in New York and Dubai underway — INTERSECT includes a café, concept shop and event space. The space was designed by Masamichi Katayama, president of interior design firm Wonderwall Inc. He is known for designing UNIQLO‘s flagships in New York and Ginza as well as Thom Browne‘s flagship in New York.

INTERSECT Aoyama was designed with Japan’s unique heritage in mind, covering the façades with Japanese bamboo which is also used in the steering wheels of Lexus cars. Upon entering, the café’s relaxing atmosphere greets visitors, and past the café are a multifunctional space and concept shop. The event space currently exhibits one of Lexus’s cars, behaving almost like a garage. The concept store features clothes, accessories and housewares produced exclusively for Lexus, collectively called “CRAFTED for Lexus” (watch the video below).

Visit INTERSECT at 4-21-26 Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo 107-0062.
