Union Garage NYC will be familiar to the city’s motorcycle riders, the Brooklyn based store home to some of the best bike gear and products you’ll find anywhere. Looking to establish their own label, they begin in ambitious style with this more than impressive jacket out of the Vanson Leathers factory, a renowned Massachusetts based maker founded in 1974. The Robinson, named after the Jackie Robinson Parkway running from Brooklyn to Queens, references classics bike jackets from the likes of Belstaff and Barbour. Packed full of hidden detail with safety at its core, the 10.10 ounce Martexin waxed cotton shell includes built in leather elbow and shoulder patches as well as removable CE-certified D3O armor inserts at the shoulders, elbows and back. Leather trimmed collar and cuffs which snap closed to create a wind-tight seal, large pockets concealed in the back, a selection at the front also include a diagonal chest pocket positioned for access without having to let go of the throttle. All of this is accompanied by a bright red tartan liner, just to keep things jazzy. A beautiful jacket built with bikers in mind, smart enough to appeal to those of us who carry a travelcard rather than a helmet too, pre-order yours in tan or black here.
