Harper’s Bazaar sit down with Takashi Murakami to get to the bottom of this big-eyed monster thing, now a surreal, super-kawaii movie, ‘Jellyfish Eyes.’ A personal project, he describes “the children in the story are imbued with my own childhood memories. So in a sense I’ve set the landscape of the children of the ’60s within the everyday life of the present day.” However, most interesting is this incredible shoot from photographer Jason Schmidt following model Angela Lindvall around Los Angeles as she lives her day to day life accompanied by Murakami’s incredible creatures, soft and cuddly and as sinister as hell. The group visit In-N-Out burger, take the dog for a walk, pick up an ice cream and stop for booze at The Standard hotel. A surreal and colorful take on Murakami’s latest project, read more over at Harper’s Bazaar and see the shots in our gallery.
