When it comes to denim it’s all to easy to fall in to the nostalgia trap, but what about future denim? What about the kind of jeans we’ll all be flying around space in eh? Well, in 1999, a time when we were all contemplating our soon to come hoverboard lifestyles and Y2K pandemonium, Levi’s introduced their RED label “…dedicated to reinventing the iconic Levi’s 5-pocket jean and proposing new forms and aesthetics for jeanswear.” Twisted hems, red stitching, strange and off-centre cuts and proportions, the collection looked to shake-up how we thought about denim. Well, Levis Red is on its way back, so to celebrate oki-ni have some archival pieces from the original collection on offer. Our favourite – this work jacket, pretty standard at first glance but packed with lots of interesting details with its honeycomb elbow fades, curved rear hem and hook and eye neck clasp. Grab it while you can over here.
