Stylist Katy England Explores Youth Culture & 110 Years Of Motor Manufacturing In Short Film

Stylist and former fashion director of Dazed & Confused and AnOther Katy England teams up with Vauxhall to create this short film, “a 24 hour window of life in Britain in 2013.” entitled ‘Made in England,’ part of the Vauxhall Presents series. A driver travels through cities and countryside with various passengers from a roadside wanderer to a group of party girls getting ready for a night out with a cameo from England’s husband Bobby Gillespie. Concentrating on the young ones and modern style tribes England comments “When I was researching this I was really looking at real kids out there and they all seem to be an amazing combination of different styles. When I was younger it was very defined. You were a punk or you were a Goth…It’s all mixed-up now and that’s what makes it seem modern and current.” Press play below and read the full interview at Dazed.
