Porsche Design announce their latest luxury phone model for Blackberry. The P’9982 smartphone is a well-designed, premium lifestyle smartphone featuring a brushed “satin” aluminum front complimented by a hand-wrapped Italian leather backcover. While drastically different than the Blackberry Z10 on the outside, the internals of the P’9982 feature the same 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM with the addition of 64GB of internal storage, compared to 32GB on the Z10. The Porsche Design P’9982 Blackberry also packs small additions like a custom Porsche Design icon when using BBM. The P’9982 is available through Porsche Design retail stores today (as well as Harrods in London) for $2,300.

I got my hands on the P’9981. If that was any indication the leather in this will be absolutely fantastic. Soft but durable. Not sure why they based it on the Z10 instead of the Z30 though, especially since these luxury devices have a 2-3 yr lifecycle at least.
