Writer and designer Jake Eshelman makes a series of wooden skateboards handmade in Texas from American-sourced hardwood. There is absolutely no laser cutting involved, even hand-cutting and polishing the wheel wells. The hardwood material ensures that each board is unique in pattern and shade, which ranges from natural to ebony with occasional stripe designs. The risers of the skateboards are made of Horween Chromexcel leather, which absorbs shock for a much smoother ride than those with skateboards that have conventional plastic risers. Shop them here, with prices ranging from $345 to $515.
