For Stella Jean’s Fall/Winter 2014 menswear collection which showed in Pitti Immagine Florence, the burgeoning designer effectively combines her Hatian Creole heritage with Italian flamboyance. As only her second collection for men, Jean succeeds in delivering an immaculately styled and strong collection, covering everything from footwear, bags and smaller accessories with bold patterns reminiscent of West Africa. Jean doesn’t scare away from head-to-toe print looks and using dotted patterns for tailored pants, using courageously bold patterns for some Louis Vuitton-evoking smoking jackets. The Stella Jean man seems unconcerned for conformity in style.
