Vo Trong Nghia Architects build the Stacking Green residence in the bustling Ho Chi Minh City of Saigon, Vietnam. The house is “a typical tube house” for the region but built with a refreshing focus on greenery. Surrounded by white concrete panels filled with various tropical plants, greenery can be seen from every point around the home. The panels are separated according to the height of the plants, which help filter sunlight as well as naturally ventilate and cool the interior. The owners don’t have to worry about watering them, as they are connected to automatic irrigation pipes. The interior is lined with wooden floors and granite stone walls which react nicely to the changing patterns of sunlight throughout the day. Topped off with a rooftop garden, Stacking Green truly redefines the spirit of the grossly urban location.
