Runners rejoice. Jun Takahashi returns with a Nike Gyakusou collection for Spring/Summer 2014. Taking the spiritual approach, we’re told “…running is a struggle between joy and agony, elation and exhaustion, persistence and surrender. It is a crusade waged by both the body and the mind.” The new line deals with this “yin-yang” with materials and colours in contrast and balance. Hi-tech as you’d expect, Takahashi and the Nike Apparel Innovation Design Team use thermal body mapping to create garments ready to react to changes in our temperature, fine laser perforations applied across an engineered jacquard weave to produce a Sweat Map Jacket, Dri-FIT Sweat Map 3/4 Top and Dri-FIT Sweat Map Tank. Shoes this season work with the Lunar Speed AXL, colour-blocked alongside a subtle python print, Lunarlon cushioning both comfortable and functional. Soft greys and blues bring a two-tone element to additional pieces including a Lightweight Jacket, two lengths in Dri-FIT 5-Inch Woven Short and Dri-FIT 3/4 Tights. See the collection for men and women in our gallery.
