More Shipley & Halmos news, following up our Fall/Winter 2014 lookbook review, we take a look at a new project that sees NYC designers Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos branch out into fresh territory with a line of sportwear. Leaning towards an old-school aesthetic, the pair look to midcentury American sports classics, a kind of upbeat ’80s take on that era rather than a perfectly executed repro collection, the line “…reimagines the clothes we wore and loved when playing and watching sports during our childhood.” Primary colours cover garment dyed tees, polos, cotton rugby shirts, softball tees, washed fleece sweatpants, graphic tees, sweatshirts, varsity sweaters, baseball jackets and striped athletics socks, with the brand creating 8 individual garment labels, each with a unique sports reference, to use across the line.
