This week was a continuation of great design, whether it was in a jacket, bag, or a piece of architecture. Some awe-inspiring films also caught our attention, like a beautiful journey in a forest in Colorado or a serene tour of urushi studios in Japan. We also introduced some new brands this week, like LFANT and Commodity from whom we’re sure we’ll see more. Revisit this week’s highlights with us after the jump.
We are delighted to have discovered Commodity, a new fragrance brand with equally new scents like “Book,” “Cloth,” and “Tea.” Their playful illustrations of ingredients in each bottle caught our eyes at first, but we attest that they are just as pleasing to the olfactory senses too.
This incredible short film on the summer travels of Ed Zevely, longtime Filson customer, still have us in awe every time we watch the Colorado high country.
We consistently feature design products from MONO, so we were delighted when Design Milk, another one of our favorite design sites, took a tour of their store in Hawaii.
Master craftsmen from the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan show us how they make traditional lacquerware by hand.
This luxury home in Alicante, Spain, has us begging for warmer weather. It features an elevator, jacuzzi, infinity pool, and more.
One of the most unique pieces of accessories we’ve seen in a while, this oversized bag from Nudie Jeans is inspired by one from 1920s Germany and can behave as a standalone piece of sculpture.
Another set of unique accessories, the Sun Collection by MOSCOT was released this past week. The frames have unique color combinations that have us wanting more.
Our collection with eBay on simple travel essentials revisit some of the most basic yet imperative items we need to make our trips smoother. All we need now is time and an itinerary.
