A bold piece of architecture that doesn’t so much blend into its Arkansas surroundings as loudly announces its presence, “Round Mountain” house is anything but with its uncompromising angular form and conspicuous placement on the Ozarks. deMx architecture were in fact referencing similar builds in the area, and, with a precedent set, went about creating a home that combines “modernist ideals with vernacular strategies.” Divided into two areas, the “main frame” holds the airy main living/kitchen area, carport, guest loft and outdoor ‘breezeway.’ In the “lean-to” you’ll find more private spaces including the bedroom, bathroom and closets. Wrapped in steel and concrete, the house uses various sustainable technologies keeping the structure eco-friendly. Take a look inside over in our gallery.
