Warby Parker open a new store on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The eyewear brand’s third New York retail expansion is housed in the former Lascoff Drugs pharmacy built in the 1920s, whose original check terrazzo floors, cathedral ceilings and gothic windows are kept in their original form. Interestingly, WP gave the old space a futuristic twist by installing pneumatic tubes as portals to transport the eyeglasses from the basement up to the customers. Artist Maira Kalman illustrated a series of quirky and colorful portraits that cover the center column that also acts as a book shelf for Warby’s suggested reading. If you are in New York, you can visit the store at 1209 Lexington Avenue. To see all available services at the location, go here.
