Watch How The New Yorker Pick their Famous Cartoons

CBS 60 Minutes correspondent, Morley Schaffer, takes an insightful look into how The New Yorker select the 16 cartoons that make it to each of their weekly issues. Schaffer spends most of the segment discussing cartoons and the selection process with the magazine’s cartoon editor, Bob Mankoff, who reviews thousands of submissions from professionals and readers, admitting that nearly all of them are rejected. The process for acceptance is a difficult one. Mankoff’s memoior on his history at The New Yorker, How About Never–Is Never Good for You?: My Life in Cartoons, is available now on Amazon.
