Architect Noël Dominguez creates this beautiful Paris home in the 20th arrondissement, the compact Maison en Bois (Wooden House) covers three-storeys, the lower two clad in timber, the top, a set back glazed box in metal and glass with floor to ceiling windows. The build attempts to balance the need for privacy and the desire to provide unrestricted views, the entire frame built piece by piece, each separate component brought through by hand down a narrow 1.4-metre-wide passage, a typically challenging Parisian construction described as a “ship in a bottle.” Open plan living throughout, an incredible amount of light and space for a relatively small urban home, the interior as impressive as the exterior, see inside and out in our gallery.
