Continuing our Visits to some of the world’s most interesting spaces, we take a small trip to concept store Correspondances located in Geneva, Switzerland. If you’re into brands like Engineered Garments, Stone Island, Ten C, Common Projects, Nike, Gitman, Mismo, Cote & Ciel or Wings + Horns, Correspondances might well be an excellent source as its biggest draw clearly lays in its exclusive selection.
The folks behind it explain, “We believe Geneva is a fantastic place to live but lacks some spaces proposing high-quality, genuine products — in particular, for men. You can find the usual suspects of high-end luxury brands, watch makers and cheap brands, but very limited options for independent labels and more creatively interesting products. People here travel quite a lot and are looking online intensively. Hence, we wanted to create a retail space which Geneva deserves. We opened the shop in the very heart of Geneva with significant space in the old town in September 2013 and the online shop went live in December 2013.”
Based on the French word “correspondances,” the store aims to provide options for people already passionate or new to these fields, with a deep passion for each category. “We’re not necessarily looking for the latest fashion but we appreciate genuine creativity, unique craftsmanship and originality. We strongly believe that passion can and should be shared so we are trying to bring to Geneva the most interesting and exclusive products in sportswear, streetwear, books, music or magazines from around the world.”
In addition to the brands mentioned above, more Geneva weather-appropriate brands are stocked as well including Arc’teryx Veilance, SNS Herning and Han sunglasses. Reading-wise, the space has a great mix of Gestalten books and independent magazines like Kinfolk and Lucky Peach, both of which have not yet been distributed throughout the city.
Take a look inside the shop above and make sure to drop by during your next visit to Geneva.
