Tucked away on a quiet street in Ridgewood, Queens sits a humble storefront, home to our friends at Left Field. Formerly a sweater factory, the warehouse space functions as the brand’s headquarters, studio, hang-out spot, and now “appointment-only” shop. Left Field offers some of the best American-made denim out there and has a dedicated and engaged following. (Right now they’re having an online contest for who can break in their indigo-dye sweatpants the best).
Founder Christian McCann started Left Field in 1998 when none of us were not thinking about “Made-in-America” or 23-oz selvedge denim or wearing workwear (outside of work). The label came to fruition out of a desire to make product with character, and more importantly, a sense of craft — “clothing that our grandfathers would be proud of,” McCann simply puts it.
A visit to Left Field is definitely unlike any shopping experience we expect you’ve had. Since they set up shop in such a remote neighborhood and unique space, all the way out in Queens, they give us a look at the trip out to Ridgewood. See the exclusive video below.
