LONDON: Ai Weiwei Displays New Work at the Lisson Gallery

Not to be missed, Ai Weiwei continues to pop up in various cities across the globe, currently showing at the Lisson Gallery in West London, his third solo exhibition at the location. A new bicycle installation forms the centrepiece, part of the ongoing Forever series, alongside other sentimental and political pieces.

DETROIT: The Pop Up Flea Hits New Territory

The Pop Up Flea continues its national and international tour, this time heading  to Detroit, Michigan with the support of Shinola in their hometown. The first ever all Made in the USA event, taking place June 7-8, look out for Billykirk, Topo, Steven Alan, Red Wing, Terrapin Stationers, Noble Denim and more.

If you never made it to much-celebrated restaurant Dabbous and find the idea of waiting lists a bit silly, head over to Ollie Dabbous’ latest venture, Barnyard. The chef, best known for complicated, don’t try this at home cooking, goes much simpler (and affordable) with this cafe, no reservations set-up, all corrugated walls and oldy-worldy recipes.

BARCELONA: Photographer Bobby Flowers at Apolo Store

Specialising in music based projects, LA-based photographer Bobby Flowers brings his work to Barcelona, showing a selection of his images including the likes of Madlib, Gaslampkiller, Flying Lotus, Erykah Badu, King Krule, Lil Debbie, Lykke li, J-Rocc, Annika, Jonwayne and Georgia Anne Muldrow. Black and white photographs shot with vintage cameras, Flowers has been documenting the underground music scene in his home town for the past 6 years.

COLOGNE: Henrik Vibskov Opens Exhibition at Ruttkowski;68

Recent trips to Miami and Mexico inspire the work at Designer Henrik Vibskov’s new solo show in Germany. As you’d expect, full of the weird and wonderful, the mixed media collection will include woodcut prints, experimental textiles and, erm, “a blow-up sculpture of Popeye with 100 penises popping out.” Not one to take Grandma to then.

More grooming options, this time from the other side of the Atlantic as Fellow Barber launch another pop-up, this time inside the Shinola store in Tribeca.
