Using a series of metallic cubes, famed British artist Antony Gormley creates a sculpture designed to resemble a giant sitting man, placed upon the Beaumont Hotel in London’s Brown Hart Gardens. Inside the sculpture – a four square meter suite entitled ‘Room’, with ceilings at ten meters high and a small window in the middle. Gormley describes the intention behind the project as a desire to “confront the monumental with the most personal, intimate experience”. The suite is estimated to run at a cost of £2,500 a night, and will be open for bookings this Autumn. Check the gallery for more.
