We stopped in at the launch of Harley-Davidson’s new Project Livewire electronic motorcycle, held at their SoHo showroom on Broadway in New York City this week. The event was also the first stop on Harley-Davidson’s 30-city “Experience Tour” set to introduce rider’s new and old to Project Livewire. A big part of the Project Livewire Experience tour will be gaining rider feedback on the new chopper. Licensed riders are invited to not only test drive the new motorcycle but feedback that will be implemented into the final production model.  For those who don’t yet ride, they will have the opportunity through Jumpstart, Harley-Davidson’s simulated riding experience on the electric motorcycle.

The New York launch event allowed for us to experience the aesthetics of the Project Livewire motorcycle. It’s distinct body and form is only part of the story. Under the hood, the all-new engine not only brings the expected Harley-Davidson “tire-shredding” acceleration along side a new, distinct engine sound that resonates very differently from traditional Harley-Davidison choppers.

To communicate the new Harley-Davidson expression, the brand brought along top executives and Harley-Davidson club members along for the launch.  Take a moment and go inside the Project Livewire Experience in our gallery.
