Above is a transparent table supported by a 330 lbs. cube filled with burnt faux 50 euro notes. Amarist, with the help of Spanish artist Alejandro Monge, invites us to ponder two simple questions: How much is money worth and is this “Too Much?” While there is no “right” answer, the artist hopes to adjust our perspective by reminding us that “a bill is only a piece of paper with a figure on it.”

If you disagree with scorching currency, do not fret because each “euro” is a piece of art that underwent a meticulous drawing and painting process. Successfully mimicking charred notes, the collaborative table arouse a great deal of commotion especially when the table emits flames. With a clean aesthetic, this one-of-a-kind contemporary design object makes us think outside, or rather inside, the box.
