Olafur Eliasson Installs “Riverbed” at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art

Danish artist Olafur Eliasson creates an incredible sitespecific installation for his solo exhibition at Denmark’s Louisiana Museum of Modern Art “that reverses the relation between nature and art.” Bringing the outside in, the entire South Wing of the museum has been turned into a rocky landscape, the piece, entitled “Riverbed,” allows visitors to navigate across an uneven terrain inside the clinical environment of your average white wall gallery space. Eliasson describes “what I’m interested in with my work at the Louisiana isn’t really that you experience an object or an artwork. I am interested in how you connect this landscape to the rest of the world and ultimately, how you experience yourself within it.”
