Known for their darkly romantic aesthetic, love of pop culture and tendency to court controversy, it’s little wonder that Alexander McQueen have found a fitting match in London-based tattooist and commercial artist Fergus Purcell, better known to his cult following by his artist tag, “Fergadelic.” McQ by Alexander McQueen partnered with the heavily tattooed Englishman to create two bespoke designs, “the Frankenman” and the “Scarred McQ,” each in a jersey and knit versions. A self-proclaimed fan of viral videos, comics and ’80s trash, Fergadelic’s designs reflect his intuitive understanding of the subcultures that have been longtime influencers of the Alexander McQueen brand. The two have also announced plans to expand their collaboration to Spring/Summer 2015.
