Taschen Books are consistently on the forefront of collecting works long considered lost or out of public view. Vintage pin-up art and photography is one of those genres that Taschen take great care in collecting, now presented in The Art of Pin-up, their latest publication packaged in a rather oversized coffee table book form. The massive 546-page tome collects pin-up art from more than 95 artists, salvaged from remaining magazines and calendars from the 1920s through the ’70s. Many original pin-up artworks of those decades have been destroyed or disposed of by the publishers, so we are more than glad that The Art of Pin-Up managed to put this together. The great Dian Hanson, curator of the Sexy Books division of Taschen, also edited this fine book.
