See the Best Dressed at Goodwood Revival Race via Men’s File

See the Best Dressed at Goodwood Revival Race via Mens File

Saturday, September 13′s Best Dressed competition at the Goodwood Revival Race may have looked like something straight from a vintage movie, but it was very much a contemporary and fashionable happening. The sartorially-conscious from all over the world spent plenty of time and money putting together authentic outfits they hoped would win them the grand prize of flowers, a magnum bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, and of course, bragging rights. Men’s File was there to record some of the most flawless fashion of the day, taking portraits of motor heads, ’70s roller girls, and carnies. Learn more about the competition over at Goodwood’s blog and see every single portrait taken on Men’s File‘s Facebook page. A selection of our favorites above.

Premium Swedish Under Garments from The White Briefs Spring/Summer 2015

Premium Swedish Under Garments from The White Briefs Spring/Summer 2015

Humanity as a whole is fairly wide point of reference. Swedish brand, The White Briefs, has taken on the daunting task of designing their Spring/Summer 2015 under garments collection around exactly that: Their love of humanity in all its infinite complexity.

Informed by a deeply whimsical point of view and an overt sense of optimism in the goodness and beauty of the world, the upcoming collection draws on pale palettes and slouchy yet architectural silhouettes to create a dreamy and ethereal reality for the brand’s curation of styles.

Each color and cut has been decided with careful reflection and serves the purpose of helping to cement a larger overarching narrative of nature. Pale yellows pay homage to sunlight while moss green, ruddy red and pale blues mimic the colors found in Sweden’s vast countryside. We never thought someone could look so good in plain underwear, but here we are. You can shop their current offerings online or at select retailers like Opening Ceremony.

The Origami-Inspired Packable Oru Kayak

The Origami Inspired Packable Oru Kayak

Many city-dwellers are plagued by the shared problem of restrictive living spaces. Residential real estate in urban areas is less than versatile at times, and San Franciscan Anton Willis discovered this immediately after attempting to place his fiberglass kayak into storage. As a response to this quandary, Willis began sketching and creating paper models of what would become the Oru Kayak. It was not long before 25 full-scale prototypes of the origami-inspired kayak were floating about the Bay Area, and subsequently the Oru brand got its start.

The specifications are quite astonishing; each kayak is crafted from double-layered polypropylene that is rated to withstand 20,000 fold-cycles, truly exemplifying simplicity and great design. For additional information on the various kayak packages offered by Oru, drop by the brand’s website.

Quality Casual Clothing from Syndicate Fall/Winter 2014

Quality Casual Clothing from Syndicate Fall/Winter 2014

This Fall/Winter 2014, Syndicate wants you to put a little effort into dressing. No more sloppy ketchup stained tees that betray your love of hamburgers. No more outfits that reveal your upwardly (or downwardly) mobile social status. None of that.

This season is about functional, high-quality casual clothing that lets you be any man at any time — no constraints and no trying too hard. Many of the styles were designed in collaboration with Ukrainian contemporary designer Sasha Kanevski, a fact the company says lends “design fineness and structural fabrication.” Heavy usage of tech fabrics translates into a sporty aesthetic; shiny pullovers and vests are made special with a scalloped design and unique button placements.

There are also the obligatory casual tees in both subtle color schemes and brighter constructions. Carefully placed logos and graphics tie neatly back to popular culture, avoiding the overbearing branding that has been the downfall of many a good line. The assortment also offers outerwear options with trenches, concealed zip all-weather coats and more. From pullovers to casual tees and beyond, Syndicate offers sport, style and comfort.
