The latest from the Nike Vintage Running series is soon entering stores. This time they worked on the LD1000. The uppers come in a very lightweight black stretch material and the swoosh has been given a nice vintage used look.
The pack consists of three LD1000's, each coming with a black upper, but different color swoosh. Nort Berlin will be releasing the pack exclusively on the 22nd of December.

Earlier this season we already presented to you the first part of the Moncler x Junya Watanabe collection. Now they added some more pieces to it, which you should be seeing in stores such as Dover Street Market and Comme des Garcons flagship stores this month.
In the first drop they released some more preppy pieces, with the stand-out piece beeing the down blazer. In this second drop they worked on some more sporty styles for the eYe collection. As usual it is great to see the best down jackets in the world being remixed by one of our favorite designers, who is also probably the best in the world at remixing classics.
We have reported before about the Takashi Murakami exhibition at the Moma in Los Angeles, that is still going on until February 2008. For the occasion Louis Vuitton opened a temporary pop-up store in the museum and is selling a few items, only available at that store. The most interesting items are the coin case and the shopping bag, both coming in the classic Monogram design and with special Murakami artwork.
In case you do not have the chance to pass by the museum until February, then you can now also purchase the items at Cliff Edge.
First pictures have turned up now of a soon to come Vans x Comme des Garcons collaboration. The sneaker brand and the Japanese label worked on the Sk8-Hi. It comes in an all black colorway, with black leather on the upper, the logo stripe and also on the mid and outer sole. The contrast stitching is a nice look on this otherwise very simple and subtle sneaker.

Real estate developers in NYC have discovered a historic graffiti wall end of November.
"Developer Mike Namer points to a detail on a graffiti wall with drawings by original graffiti subway artists Fab Five Freddy, Futura 2000 and some traces by Jean-Michel Basquiat Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, in New York. The large mural, created by some of graffiti's earliest pioneers, was discovered recently in a 10-story limestone building just as developers were converting it into luxury condominiums."

Here a look at the new MHL collection designed by UK designer Margaret Howell. Margaret Howell is especially known for her menswear collections and for creating clothes based on vintage pieces that she comes across. The MHL line is the younger sports collection, with her general line being more dressy and sophisticated.
Here MHL collection consists of western shirts, blazers, beanies, scarfs, a rugby shirt and also a rain coat. The collection is now available in the newly revamped Hanon Online Store. We are especially excited about her shirts, which are all handmade in London with a lot of know-how going into them.

The next year is not far away and so we are already starting to take a look at the new Nom de Guerre Spring/Summer 2008 collection. Nom de Guerre is exactly one of those up and coming high-end brands that we like to keep an eye on. They have a smart mix of casual chic and sportswear in each of their collections. The same is true for their new S/S '08 collection, where they also go a bit into American work wear. Smart design, nice accents and simple colors are trademarks of the brand.

Watching young design firms continue to output great product is what keeps the HS staff happy. In house favorite, Public School does that (again) by teaming up with Rkives NYC, in creating two new bags for the coming Spring/Summer 08 markets.
Founded by bag designer (and former Akademiks staffer), Sean Ziran, Rkives NYC is an exclusive modern vintage bag collection hand crafted in New York City. Each bag by Rkives is handmade by the designer himself.

Here a preview of some upcoming New Balance 574's - the Trail Pack. The pack consists of two New Balance 574's, a brown and a grey colorway. Inspired by tracking shoes, the sneakers have been given accents to imitate that look. You can see it on the sole, the toe box and especially on the laces. PAM got together with world recognized photographer Joseph Szabo on a series of t-shirts.
"Joseph Szabo is the recipient of a National Endowment for the Visual Arts Fellowship and his work resides in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Yale University, The International Centre of Photography and the Bibliotheque National in Paris, amongst others. He currently lives in Amityville, New York with his wife Nancy and Siberian Husky, Gala. Most notable for his collection of pictures of American youth during the 1970's in his book "Teenage". His photograph "Priscilla" adorns the cover of grunge band Dinosaur Jr's album "Green Mind"."
The t-shirts carry photographs out of the Joseph Szabo book "The Rolling Stone Fans" and are also part of the artists work from the 1970's. He visited a Rolling Stones concert at the time, and 90'000 fans came to it. The tees have now been released at Bonjour Records.
Here a look at the Michalsky Spring/Summer 2008 collection. Michael Michalsky used to be the Creative Director of Adidas for many years and made quite a name for himself in that position. He also created together with Yohji Yamamoto the Adidas Y-3 brand.
About 2 years ago he left Adidas to found his own label, Michalsky. In terms of look it many times reminds us of Y-3. Premium quality, but still sporty. The brand is of course much more high-end than the Adidas collections. Michalsky made 3 labels, the other ones being his denim label, M-Michalsky, and Michamic, a sportswear label.
Here above you see the Spring/Summer collection of the main line. In terms of colors the line is dominated by black, yellow and turquoise. Overall very fresh, we also love the womens line. Hopefully distribution will expand soon, its still too hard to come by!
A quick note on one of our favorite pieces of the Obedient Sons Fall '07 collection. The Bomber Jacket and Leather Bomber Jacket are both on sale now at Aoha Rag. In case the price had been an issue until now, here is your chance.

Once again Neighborhood and Supreme join forces and announced today their next capsule collection to be released soon.
It's not the first time these two brands get together, but it is for sure the largest offering we have seen in a collaboration effort to date. The Neighborhood x Supreme collection consists of New Era Caps, denim, hoodies, Stadium Jackets, M-65 Jacket, logo t-shirts, Larry Clark t-shirt and a Vans collaboration as well, which consists of a Chukka and a Sk8-Hi.
What can we say? It looks good. Nothing too crazy, mostly subtle and on point. It will be released on December 28th in the Supreme NY and LA stores. The Japanese stores will get some part of it already on December 15th, the rest on January 2nd. You do not have to be a genius to know that this collection will fly out of the stores. So, if you intend to go, make sure you are there early.

Several times we have already reported about Monocle Magazine, probably one of the best launches in the magazine world in recent years. In terms of the way they brand themselves, advertise and of course present content from all sorts of areas, they are a truly modern magazine. Another interesting aspect is their approach towards branding. One channel for them is to collaborate with brands, that they admire and offer special products together with these brands. Porter from Japan is one of them. Since the inception of the magazine the two have been working together and now the latest collection has been released.
The current Monocle x Porter collection consists of a weekend traveler, tote shopping bag and a laptop bag. Both the weekend traveler and the tote bag come with extra bags, specifically made to store your goods efficiently inside them. Thus for example the weekend traveler comes with a laundry bag and a cosmetics bag. In terms of colors they offer each piece in military green and in black.

Here you see the latest release out of the on going collaboration between Converse and designer John Varvatos. The Chuck Taylor Hi comes with an all black canvas upper, used coloring on the white outer sole, leather laces and black metal application along the laces and on the heel.
The sneaker has now been released at Tradition.
