The first Visvim x Sophnet collaboration of the year has been released in Europe. They worked on the Kiefer Hi and made them in gold and silver metallic colorways. SlamJam has them in stock now.

Denimology is reporting that California based denim line, J Brand is re-launching their men's offering this coming August as the J Brand Denim Co.
Working under the rules that mens denim is not produced in the same manner as women's, J Brand has hired on Denim Revival's Sean Hornbeak to ensure they get it right.
With the expected $200 median pricepoint and full manufacturing inside the USA (including the denim itself), J Brand Co. should make a solid mark on the premium denim market.

New pieces of the Comme des Garcons PLAY 2008 collection have now arrived at Très Bien store. They got in t-shirts, shirts, knitwear (cardigans and sweaters) and also a really nice trenchcoat, that comes in beige and features the red heart logo on the chest. In case you are nowhere close to a store carrying the line, this is your chance!
It would seem that Europe's love re-purposing classic Americana workwear and day wear consistently yields something new. Carhartt Europe has successfully targeted what is considered blue collar workwear into something fashionable for our friends across the pond.

One thing the Selectism staff loves is watching our favorite metro cities turn a bit greener by offering up bike sharing programs. We've seen it ourselves in Barcelona Spain where on every corner you'll find a few dozen or more share bikes available (residents only for now).
Now jumping on the success of their Paris initiative, is the Velib Bike Program is set to launch in London with 6,000 shared bikes. Considering London has one of the highest congestion taxes (charged to all vehicles coming into the city), this may well push more people to jump into a social movement which not only saves us on pollutants, but may very well make you healthier as well.
Did we mention the first 30minutes are free? Well done.

Italian brand Missoni has always been famous for their knitwear and their patterns. For a long time one had the feeling that the brand was a bit lost. The consumer that was into Missoni had gotten older and the younger generation was not really into their style anymore.
That perception finally seems to change again. The brand presents strong collections in recent years and especially their new Spring/Summer 2008 collection caught our eyes. The mix of their colorful knitwear with chino pants and shorts is a perfect match for the warmer months.

This season Canada Goose, a classic in the outerwear sector, launches an exciting new collection, a high-tech non-insulated line. This is a big step for a brand otherwise only known for their down jackets.
The entire collection has been designed by the Head Designer of TBG, a brand that we report on frequently. We present you here the Pearson Field Jacket, inspired by the classic M-65. It comes in a black pin-stripe design, giving the jacket a very sleek look. Also this Canada Goose collection is very comfortable to wear and almost soft, which is not the case for most technical outerwear.

Kitsuné has always been special in what ever they did. With a strong music background the Parisians will open their first flagship store end of the month and present since a couple of seasons a clothing line of selected pieces.

Phillip Starck is a designer to which almost no company would say no. That does not necessarily mean that everything he touches will come out on top (Puma come to mind), but his sheer range of works puts him in a very special class of designers.
Mr. Starck is supposedly a motorcycle enthusiast. That may not mean much to the average person, but mixing love with work usually produces the best results.
Take for example this protoype he completed for French motor-cyle manufacturer Voxan. Re-inventing the Cafe Racer into modern machine-art, Starck is doing something right.
According to motorcyclists-online.com, to be called a Cafe Racer, "a bike must be brutal and made for selfish motorcyclists." Clearly the tight design, microseat, and those incredible exhaust tubes make this a killer design.
